Proofreading
So the writer who breeds more words than he needs, is making a chore for the reader who reads.
- Dr Seuss
Proofreading is the final stage your manuscript will go through before it is published. After the changes and corrections made during the developmental editing process, your story will be gone through with a fine toothed comb, making sure that there are no errors. This is the step that fixes all spelling and grammatical errors that may have been overlooked during the editing process. It is an assurance that your manuscript is fit for publication and ready to be read by the world.
Due to the nature of proofreading being the final step in the book editing stages, it is thoroughly recommended that your manuscript has had developmental and copy editing completed before the proofreading process can begin, as the proofreading process does not reserve time for any developmental or copy editing.
